The wall sections unfold and create a loose shaped square.  Push out from the interior of the shelter, door in front, window in rear.

  • Fold out, in standing position

         GVS base being unfolded

  • Fold bottom 2” plastic extrusion towards interior of unit
  • Open door and push walls out to dimension from inside. This will form a loose square shape.

Roof and Beam Support Assembly

There are 2 sections that make up one roof.  Roof beams must be folded and secured first. Then the two sections, beams folded, are attached      with lubricated splines.  Splines are pulled through bottom to top. Can be modified as user sees fit (whatever makes it simpler).  Once roof is assembled and lifted onto the base, a tarp is placed on top of entire roof and staked to the ground. Stakes should be placed at each of the 4  corners.

  • Lay out flat with flattened beams facing up.

  • Fold up beams and secure beams with cable ties- three per beam

  • Attach one roof section to the other by inserting first spline into the “H” Channel extrusions. Lubricate the spline with Pledge furniture polish before pulling through. LUBRICATION is very important. Any oil based lubricant (WD-40, Petroleum) will work.

GVS 1st extrusion being inserted into roof

  • Pull remaining open edge together, creating a loose roof shape and insert second spline to lock the roof in position. Pull spline through.

GVS 2nd extrusion being inserted to form roof

  • Stand roof on one edge and insert roof cap into small square opening on the top of roof (where the splines/extrusions meet), push the rubber washer upwards and lock in place. This can be done with a ladder afterwards as well.

        GVS roof cap placement

  • Pick up assembled roof and place on wall section- allow beams to drop into interior of wall assembly.

GVS roof placement on top of base

  • Push walls from the interior and lock square shape into place.
  • Place blue tarp on top of completed shelter and arrange so the longer length runs off the sides (to not cover door and window).

  • Use provided stakes and rope to secure tarp to the ground.  Tie rope into 4 corner grommets on tarp. Then tie to stake and insert into the ground.  Additional ties can be added to the interior of the unit (tie rope from cable ties on beams to stake, insert stake into the ground).
  • Tarps can be folded and tucked between roof and base.  However, moisture can collect between the tarp and roof causing the shelter to fail.  Dry climates can do this on the front or rear, it is not recommended for moist climates.
  • Shelter is now assembled and ready for use- addition of hard floor, hard floor with insulation, or floor cloth will require additional steps. Tarp/ cloth flooring and other materials can be laid on top of the interior 2” returns and then secured with spike nails/washers.
